**Job Title: Truck/Trailer Mechanic**
**Job Description**
As a Truck/Trailer Mechanic, you will ensure that equipment is available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles, performing preventive maintenance, and completing necessary repairs. Responsibilities include maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints, conducting thorough inspections, repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions, and replacing parts and components. You will verify vehicle serviceability by operating equipment and conducting test drives, comply with state vehicle requirements, and maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and washing. Additionally, you will keep records of service and repairs using PC-based software, operate shop equipment, track parts used for repairs, and participate in educational opportunities to update job knowledge. The role involves operating necessary equipment for repairs and effectively communicating equipment and shop status to supervisors or management.

**Work Environment**
**2nd shift Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-10:30pm** plus every other Saturday for 4 hours. The work environment is a shop setting described as dirty, hot, and smelly in summers. The team culture is described as a 'Work Hard Play Hard' ethos with a strong focus on safety. You will be part of a close-knit group of approximately 10 mechanics and welders, wearing company uniforms, and supporting various departments including plant, office, and drivers.
