Job Description

DESCRIPTION

The FBA Defect Prevention and Reconciliation (DP&R) organization builds innovative technical products that recognize, reconcile, and prevent exceptions within Amazon’s end-to-end supply chain. We are the critical component for Amazon Supply Chain businesses that cater to merchants selling on Amazon (FBA) and off-Amazon: Amazon Global Logistics, Fulfillment, Warehousing&Distribution (AWD), Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF), and Buy With Prime. We are building a future where we capture, analyze, and explain every inventory defect across all stages of the supply chain (i.e. inbound, distribution, storage, fulfillment, and returns).

This role acts as a single-threaded-leader responsible for launching and expanding inventory defect cost (IDC) models for Supply Chain by Amazon (SCA) and other businesses. You will be expected to operate independently and solve complex tech challenges, working across multiple systems, including Fulfillment, Transportation, and Reimbursement Tech. This role requires the ability to understand requirements, provide recommendations, identify risks and opportunities in technical strategies and drive execution. In addition, find opportunities to simplify the architecture and engineering organizational structure. This position is responsible for making hard tradeoff decisions around extending frameworks versus establishing new architectures. This role is also responsible for writing technical proposals, onboarding partners to our services, getting alignment from stakeholders, and constructing design documents for transition to development teams to execute.

If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, love to work with data, enjoy software-related challenges, and are interested in building solutions to challenging problems that have a wide impact, this role may be for you.

Key job responsibilities
- Define the strategic roadmap of and deliver important reimbursement models, Seller Experience and technical roadmap of IDC expansion with broad cross-organizational, cross-business, or significant technology impact.
- Understand internal system technologies including ML and deterministic models and the interaction with upstream/downstream dependencies. Apply this knowledge to invent, evolve, and improve.
- Operate with complete independence in the face of ambiguity to solve problems on areas where the business and/or architectural strategy might not yet be defined such as new SCA programs
- Deliver projects by influencing product, science and engineering leaders and make technical trade-off decisions for integration or a new build.
- Partner with all levels of leadership to drive business and system-level reviews, aligning priorities, roadmaps, and processes. Manage communication to ensure all stakeholders are informed and needs aligned.
- Amplify your impact by educating less experienced Technical Program Managers and engineering communities on program management best practices.
- Develop and mentor team members. Perform promotion assessments. Participate in talent reviews.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelors Degree
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing system
