Role Overview
As a Product Manager for Personal Lines Property underwriting, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing our product offerings. Your responsibilities will include managing the overall profit and loss, forecasting revenue, and developing strategies to drive product growth. You'll also create internal and external product materials, user guides, and training documents. Additionally, you'll produce detailed management reports to support sales, revenue growth, and customer performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Management: Lead the development and enhancement of our Personal Lines Property underwriting product. Manage the product's financial performance, including forecasting revenue, pricing, and identifying opportunities for product improvement and bundling.
- Product Support: Provide support for the assigned product by resolving customer, finance, and technical issues. Collaborate with various teams, including product, sales, finance, IT, and operations to ensure smooth delivery and effective communication.
- Sales Support: Assist the Sales team with product materials, training, meeting support, and go-to-market strategies. Help with prospective client testing and onboarding, working closely with the Operations team.
- Research and Industry Engagement: Stay proficient in the Personal Lines Property insurance industry. Participate in industry events, conduct competitive research, and engage with business partners, third-party suppliers, and customers.
Key Tasks
- Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition, existing customer engagement, and introduction of new products and features.
- Manage product P&L, prioritize initiatives for profit and revenue growth, and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Oversee financial performance, including sales pipeline management and revenue forecasting.
- Collaborate with the Sales team on customer meetings, product proposals, and pricing strategies.
- Work with Marketing to develop product messaging and collateral.
- Partner with Operations and IT for customer proof of concept tests and implementation support.
- Respond to market needs and customer feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuary, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or insurance designations (e.g., CPCU) is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in Personal Lines Property insurance, with a proven track record in underwriting, product management, or product development.
- Strong knowledge of Personal Lines Property insurance, including underwriting practices, distribution channels, and risk data.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to address complex business problems.
- Motivated and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and industry professionals.
- Sales-oriented and experienced in competitive intelligence gathering.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (10-20% of the time) for meetings, events, and client engagements.
