As a Senior Storage Engineer for Converge's IBM Power for Google Cloud, you will be able to take your technical skills to the next level by tackling challenging issues as you support our ever-expanding global client base. This role requires an individual that is detail oriented and has a desire to work with a diverse team, strengthening our exceptional support and operations teams. This role is a cross between Infrastructure Site Reliability and Storage with a focus on automation and platform engineering, where you will define the \'golden paths\' for the dev team to deploy code. Essential Functions

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all storage environments.
• Design, build, and continuously improve the performance, availability and operational efficiency of our storage platform.
• Collaborate with storage operations resources on escalations.
• Lead workshops, produce documentation, and create tools that allow the operations team to effectively resolve support requests and operate the storage environment.
• Contribute to public and internal documentation to amplify your impact and improve the customer experience.
• Collaborate with observability teams to improve telemetry and log collection, add new dashboards, and create alerts.
• Identify opportunities for automation and create automated solutions or collaborate with our DevOps Team to build solutions.

• Proficient in a Linux or Unix based environment.
• Have deep low-level knowledge of Linux filesystems and storage drivers.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as aStorage Engineer or similar role.
• Experience with IBM PowerVC is required.
• Experience managing complex, multi-tenant environments is required.
• Production experience operating an OpenStack environment is preferred.
• Experience with IBM AIX is a plus.
• Have extensive experience optimizing and tuning storage systems for unique or demanding workloads (Oracle, SAP, etc…)
• Experience operating distributed systems in a production environment.
