Director of Surgical Services

Aiken Regional Medical Centers, located in Aiken, South Carolina, is a 273-bed acute care facility providing quality healthcare to the residents of Aiken and surrounding communities. Aiken Regional Medical Centers has been ranked a top hospital in South Carolina by the Carolina Center for Medical Excellence for its treatment of heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia. The Director of Surgical Services Provides twenty-four hour management of the Surgical Services departments including PAT, OPS, OR, PACU, Sterile Processing, Endoscopy, and ECT. This position directs, supervises and evaluates the performance of the nursing staff, contributes to the development of a fully qualified and continuously improving staff and supports work redesign and quality improvement within the department. The Director plans and administers the annual budget in collaboration with the COO. The Director integrates evidence-based nursing practice utilizing the nursing process.

Master’s in related field preferred; Current South Carolina RN license. Previous management experience required. Director Experience preferred. Minimum of 3 – 5 years of surgical nursing experience required. BLS, ACLS and PALS required; professional certification preferred. Knowledge of human resource management, program development, staff development, OR efficiency, fiscal management skills, and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards needed.
